Quyana Card presents a significant advancement in banking convenience for residents of rural Alaska. This prepaid debit card allows cardholders to make deposits at various partner locations, such as village stores, city offices, and tribal offices. In the event of a lost card, users can obtain a replacement immediately at these locations, eliminating the lengthy wait associated with traditional bank cards.

For instance, if a cardholder were to misplace their card while traveling by snowmobile between villages for a basketball tournament, the Quyana Card system allows for an immediate resolution. Users can simply visit the nearest partner location to acquire a replacement card, make necessary deposits, and continue their journey without delay.

Currently, Quyana Card partners with various locations, including Nome, Kobuk, Shungnak, Ambler, Noorvik, Selawik, Stebbins, Gambell, Togiak, Kaktovik, Emmonak, Nunam Iqua, Quinhagak, and Wainwright.

Quyana Card functions similarly to traditional bank debit cards, with the added benefit of not requiring a checking account. Users can load funds directly through deposits from wages, unemployment benefits, Native Corporation dividends, or Social Security payments. The card is accepted wherever Debit Mastercard® is recognized.

Cardholders can utilize the Quyana Card for various transactions such as paying bills, purchasing goods online—including hunting supplies—and withdrawing cash from ATMs worldwide.
